Rose Tattoo Designs

Look at any book, especially fairy tale books for children, and you will see the picture of the rose often. Get a Valentine’s greeting card, and you will often see the image of the rose in front as well. This is because in Western culture, the rose signifies pure love, perhaps the reason many people choose to sport rose tattoo designs.

Because of its universal beauty, scent and shape, many people have taken a liking to it. Many people who give flowers to their loved ones consider this a ‘safe’ choice, in that many people simply love the rose.

Even the different colors of rose tattoos symbolize many different things. The most common, red, stands for sacred and romantic love. Roses have a long history; the fact that people are named after this flower is also a proof of its power. This makes it easy to understand why many people, from way back until now, choose to have rose tattoo designs as a permanent design stamped on their bodies.

Rose tattoo designs can be with thorns or a vine; with barbed wire, in different colors, or even mixed with several other popular designs like hearts, butterflies, other flowers, or, to contrast it (or perhaps to strengthen it further), a skull or a cross. All these symbolize different things, and any of these can be one’s personal signature. These rose designs can also grace different parts of one’s body, such as the chest, hip, arm, wrist, or leg, and even these spots can mean something different, when rose tattoo designs are placed on them.
